PANTHER TRACKS

News from SCCS

Band and Choir Rock Chicago

Both the band and choir participated in the "Windy City Classic Music Festival" held in Chicago on April 10. The festival is set up so that schools compete in classes based on school size.

Both ensembles performed musical selections for 3 adjudicators and were judged on intonation, balance, technique, musicality, interpretation and music selection. Both the band and choir received first place in their class and as well as silver metals for an
excellent rating. The band impressed the judges on how much they were able to achieve with such small numbers while the choir impressed their judges on how much they have accomplished with the majority of the group being freshmen.

After each grouped performed they got immediate feedback when a clinician came up and worked with them on the music they had just competed with. Visit "The Year in Pictures" for more photos.

Class of '59 Tuition Assistance

The St. Mary Central Catholic High School Class of 1959 and Damon's Grill are teaming up for today's SCCS students with a Spirit Night fundraiser.  Several of the ladies in the Class of '59 get together once a month for dinner and friendship and decided they could help the Panthers of today at the same time.

Through a special promotion at Damon's Grill in downtown Sandusky 15% of your food and beverage purchases on April 22nd will benefit the SCCS Tuition Assistance program.  All you have to do to help out is eat a great tasting dinner at Damon's and present your waitress with a special ticket noting your donation.  Tickets will be going home in the Brown Envelope on Wednesday, April 14.

Thanks for helping out and thanks to the ladies from the Class of '59!

Spring Fling Dance

There will be a special Spring Fling Dance for all 7th and 8th grade students in the Multi Purpose Room Gym on Friday, April 16 from 6-9pm.  The dance is sponsored by the Class of 2014.  The cost is $5 per person which includes pizza, drinks, and a dessert.

Tickets for the event will be sold every morning in the cafeteria starting on April 12th until the day of the dance.  This is your chance to celebrate summer so wear your Hawaiian and beach clothes (appropriate dress only please).

Spaghetti Dinner

There will be a special Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser on Saturday, April 17th from 4-7pm in the Sandusky Central Catholic School cafeteria.  Kids 3 and under eat free, $5 for ages 4-12 and $7 for adults.  Dinners include Spaghetti with meatballs, salad, bread, and dessert.

You may purchase tickets from any 5th grade student or you may pay at the door.  Call Mary Henning at 419-609-9845 if you have any questions or need more information.  All proceeds will help fund the SCCS 6th grade Camp Mohican trip.
